Librum Bookstore is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will handle all cash transactions efficiently and ensure a smooth checkout experience for customers. You are expected to operate the Point of Sale (POS) systems accurately, manage cash handling procedures, and provide friendly and professional customer service. This position requires a minimum of one year of experience in a cashier or related role, with a focus on accuracy and responsibility.
As a Cashier at Librum Bookstore, you will be the frontline representative of our store, interacting with customers daily. You will be responsible for processing sales transactions, resolving any minor issues that arise during checkout, and communicating effectively with customers and colleagues. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential to maintain transaction integrity and provide excellent service in a fast-paced retail environment. This role does not involve managing a team but requires collaboration with other store staff to ensure efficient store operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate Point of Sale (POS) systems to process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash, credit, and electronic transactions ensuring proper cash management and minimizing discrepancies.
- Provide courteous and professional service to customers, addressing their inquiries and assisting with purchases.
- Maintain accurate transaction records and balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Identify and resolve minor customer issues or transaction discrepancies promptly and escalate complex problems as necessary.
- Follow store policies and procedures related to cash handling, security, and customer service to ensure compliance and safety.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and overall store environment.
- Collaborate with team members to support store operations, including restocking shelves and setting up promotional displays when required.
- Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding customer feedback, operational challenges, and transaction errors.
