Linux Systems Administrator

We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to manage and optimize Linux-based infrastructure across multiple locations in Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in Linux installation, configuration, security hardening, automation, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting. This role requires ensuring the availability, reliability, security, and overall performance of Linux servers and related systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers and operating systems.
- Perform server provisioning, patching, upgrades, and configuration management.
- Implement Linux security hardening following security policies and industry best practices.
- Manage users, groups, permissions, sudo access, SSH, and system services.
- Monitor system health, availability, resource utilization, and performance metrics.
- Troubleshoot issues related to Linux OS, networking, storage, and system components.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using Bash, Shell scripting, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Manage software packages, repositories, system updates, dependencies, and services.
- Analyze system logs and performance data to identify and resolve problems.
- Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Maintain technical documentation, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with Network, Security, DevOps, and Application teams to support enterprise infrastructure.
- Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and preventive maintenance activities.

Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Linux administration, preferably with RHEL, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, Ubuntu, or CentOS.
- Strong understanding of Linux system architecture and administration principles.
- Experience in Linux security hardening and vulnerability remediation.
- Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, HTTP/HTTPS, and NTP protocols.
- Proficiency in Bash and Shell scripting.
- Experience with Ansible or other automation tools.
- Knowledge of Linux performance monitoring and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to analyze CPU, memory, disk, I/O, and network performance metrics.
- Good understanding of Linux file systems, storage management (including LVM), and permissions.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills
- Experience with Python scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Podman.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes administration.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or Nagios.
- Understanding of Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with vulnerability management and security tools.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management practices.

Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant Linux certifications such as RHCSA or RHCE are considered an advantage.
