Linux Systems Administrator

We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to manage, maintain, secure, and optimize our Linux-based infrastructure across locations in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience with Linux installation, configuration, security hardening, automation, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting. This role is critical to ensuring the availability, reliability, security, and optimal performance of Linux servers and related infrastructure in a dynamic production environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers and operating systems.
- Perform server provisioning, patching, upgrades, and configuration management.
- Implement Linux security hardening aligned with security policies and industry best practices.
- Manage users, groups, permissions, sudo access, SSH, and system services.
- Monitor system health, availability, resource utilization, and overall performance.
- Troubleshoot issues related to Linux OS, networking, storage, and system components.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using Bash, Shell scripting, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Manage packages, repositories, system updates, dependencies, and services.
- Analyze system logs and performance metrics to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with Network, Security, DevOps, and Application teams to support enterprise infrastructure.
- Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and preventive maintenance activities.

Required Qualifications

- Hands-on experience with Linux administration, preferably with RHEL, Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, Ubuntu, or CentOS.
- Strong understanding of Linux system architecture and administration principles.
- Experience with Linux security hardening and vulnerability remediation.
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, HTTP/HTTPS, and NTP protocols.
- Proficiency in Bash and Shell scripting.
- Experience with Ansible or other automation tools.
- Knowledge of Linux performance monitoring and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to analyze CPU, memory, disk, I/O, and network performance metrics.
- Solid understanding of Linux file systems, storage management, LVM, and permissions.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience with Python scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Podman.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes administration.
- Exposure to monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or Nagios.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with vulnerability management and security tools.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management practices.

Education and Certifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant Linux certifications such as RHCSA or RHCE are advantageous.
