Local Procurement Team Lead

The Procurement Team Lead role is a full-time, on-site position based in Lahore District. This position is responsible for managing the entire procurement cycle for components, raw materials, and services. The incumbent will oversee vendor sourcing and evaluation, negotiate pricing and contracts, and ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing aligned with production schedules. The role requires close coordination with production, engineering, and finance teams to forecast demand, optimize inventory, and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes. Additionally, the Procurement Team Lead will mentor team members, monitor supplier performance, maintain accurate procurement records, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Material Requirement Planning (MRP): Analyze production plans, inventory levels, consumption rates, and lead times to guarantee timely availability of materials.
- Lead and manage local procurement activities for materials, spare parts, tools, consumables, and services.
- Review and prioritize purchase requisitions based on production needs, stock availability, urgency, and budget constraints.
- Source and evaluate local suppliers, obtain quotations, prepare comparative analyses, and recommend suitable vendors.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, quality standards, and delivery schedules to secure the best commercial value.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders in compliance with company procurement policies and approval workflows.
- Monitor supplier performance and follow up on orders, ensuring on-time delivery and resolving issues related to quality, shortages, or supply disruptions.
- Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Maintenance, Quality, and Finance departments to manage material shortages and maintain uninterrupted operations.
- Develop alternative suppliers and identify cost-saving opportunities through market research, negotiation, local sourcing, and supplier development initiatives.
- Lead and supervise procurement team members, track pending activities, maintain procurement documentation, and report procurement performance to management.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience in procurement management, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and inventory management.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and manage contracts.
- Excellent coordination skills to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, finance, and quality teams.
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and guide procurement staff.
- Proficiency in maintaining procurement records and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
