Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Peshawar is seeking a Locum Consultant for its Internal Medicine Department. This role is intended to support and advance the Specialist Internal Medicine services at the hospital. The appointed consultant will actively participate in delivering comprehensive Internal Medicine care and is encouraged to develop a special interest aligned with their training and the institution’s needs. Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert consultant cover in the Emergency and Assessment Room, managing acute and complex medical cases efficiently.
- Deliver high-quality Internal Medicine services across inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in the ongoing development and enhancement of Specialist Internal Medicine services within the hospital.
- Develop a special clinical interest that aligns with personal expertise and institutional priorities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate integrated patient management and promote best practices.
- Contribute to teaching and training activities, supporting the professional development of junior medical staff and trainees.
- Maintain professional standards and uphold the reputation of the hospital through ethical practice and excellent patient care.

Required Qualifications

- Medical Practitioner with full and unencumbered registration with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
- Possession of an appropriate postgraduate qualification in Internal Medicine, such as MRCP (UK), FCPS (General Medicine), American Board Certification in Internal Medicine, or an equivalent credential recognized by SKMCH&RC.
- Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary teaching environments.
- Extensive clinical experience across a variety of inpatient and outpatient treatment settings.
- Proven ability to make independent clinical decisions with confidence and accuracy.
- High level of professional integrity and commitment to enhancing the hospital’s reputation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
