We are seeking highly motivated locum consultant medical oncologists to join the Shaukat Khanum healthcare system in Lahore and Peshawar. The successful candidates will play a pivotal role in delivering and advancing cancer treatment services. They will be responsible for managing both outpatient and inpatient oncology care, working closely with a multidisciplinary team including radiation oncologists, surgeons, physicians from other specialties, and allied hospital staff. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert outpatient and inpatient medical oncology care to cancer patients.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across oncology and related specialties to enhance service delivery.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure coordinated patient management.
- Contribute to the development and expansion of oncology services within the healthcare system.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their families, offering support and information about treatment plans.
- Uphold professional standards and comply with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- MRCP (UK) with CCST in Medical Oncology, or
- American Board certification in Internal Medicine with a sub-specialty board in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology.
- Full and unencumbered registration as a medical practitioner with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
- Demonstrated extensive experience in managing cancer patients across various inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to relate empathetically to patients and their families.
- Capability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
