Locum Instructor (General Surgery), Department of Surgery

Aga Khan University, Pakistan’s first private international university established in 1983, is seeking a Locum Instructor in General Surgery within its Department of Surgery, located in Karachi. The university is renowned for its commitment to education, research, and healthcare of international standards, serving Pakistan and the surrounding region. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital offers advanced clinical facilities and investigative services. The Department of Surgery delivers comprehensive and specialized care across multiple surgical disciplines, including Cardiothoracic, Dental-Oral, Maxillofacial, General, Breast, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic, Otolaryngology, Paediatric, Plastic, Urology, and Vascular Surgery. The department comprises 115 full-time and part-time faculty members dedicated to teaching and research, with structured undergraduate, postgraduate residency, and fellowship programs integrated into its academic framework. Key Responsibilities:
The appointed Locum Instructor will actively participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research activities, and clinical and operative duties within the General Surgery section. Responsibilities include providing coverage during on-call shifts, managing emergency room cases, and coordinating patient care with the surgical team. The role also involves performing any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor related to General Surgery.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed structured postgraduate training in General Surgery from a reputable institution. They should hold FCPS Part I or an equivalent qualification and be eligible to pursue FCPS Part II or its equivalent. A valid Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) license is mandatory. Comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted as part of the selection process.
