Long-Form Video Editor

Team Zealancy is seeking a skilled YouTube Video Editor proficient in long-form and short-form content, including documentary-style, talking-head, creator-led videos, motion design, and AI-generated visuals. This full-time onsite role is based in Karachi, with working hours from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Compensation ranges from PKR 45,000 to 120,000+ per month, depending on skill, portfolio, experience, and trial performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong storytelling ability and technical expertise to transform raw footage and creative ideas into engaging, high-retention YouTube content. Titles such as Junior or Senior are not the primary focus; instead, evaluation is based on portfolio quality, editing judgment, and creative execution. The role demands a deep understanding of why edits work, viewer retention strategies, pacing, sound, motion graphics, and the integration of AI visuals to enhance storytelling.

Key Responsibilities:
- Edit long-form YouTube videos from raw footage through to final delivery.
- Develop compelling intros and hooks that generate curiosity and maintain viewer attention.
- Structure videos with a focus on storytelling, pacing, and retention.
- Create and incorporate motion graphics, typography, animations, and visual effects.
- Use B-roll, graphics, screenshots, stock footage, music, and sound effects purposefully.
- Generate and integrate AI visuals using tools like Higgsfield AI to support storytelling and creative sequences.
- Combine AI-generated content with traditional editing and motion design to maintain visual consistency.
- Apply basic color correction and grading as needed.
- Translate scripts and creative concepts into engaging visual narratives.
- Accurately replicate editing styles from references without direct copying.
- Apply fundamental graphic design and layout principles when creating assets.
- Manage revisions efficiently and professionally.
- Take ownership of projects and communicate any blockers promptly.
- Deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines.

Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
- Strong knowledge of motion design and animation principles.
- Excellent sense of pacing, rhythm, sound design, and visual composition.
- Good typography and layout skills.
- Basic understanding of color correction and grading.
- Strong ability to select and use B-roll effectively for storytelling.
- Good project organization and asset management skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot routine editing and workflow issues independently.
- Hands-on experience with AI visual generation and AI-assisted creative workflows.
- Familiarity with Higgsfield AI or similar AI image/video generation platforms.
- Skill in generating, refining, and integrating AI visuals into professional edits.
- Strong judgment regarding visual consistency, realism, continuity, and quality when using AI assets.
- Solid English comprehension, especially for working with English-language scripts.
- Understanding of YouTube storytelling techniques and viewer retention strategies.
- Ability to analyze and explain why certain editing choices work.
- Experience translating scripts and abstract ideas into AI-assisted visual sequences.
- Familiarity with creator-led content and channels such as Johnny Harris and Colin & Samir.
