We are seeking an experienced and meticulous Quality Control Manager to ensure the highest standards of quality and performance in our custom race suit production. As the Quality Control Manager, you will play a critical role in upholding our reputation for excellence by implementing and overseeing rigorous quality control processes. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering flawless race suits will contribute to the success of our brand and the satisfaction of our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive quality control processes and procedures for custom race suit production, from fabric inspection to final product assessment.
  • Collaborate with design, production, and sewing teams to establish clear quality benchmarks and specifications for each stage of production.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, including technical fabrics, accessories, zippers, and other components, to ensure they meet quality standards before entering the production process.
  • Monitor and evaluate the production process to identify potential quality issues and deviations from established standards. Take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct regular spot-checks and random audits during the production cycle to verify adherence to quality protocols and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive quality control database, documenting defects, root causes, and corrective actions taken.
  • Train production staff on quality control standards and procedures, providing guidance on identifying and rectifying quality issues.
  • Work closely with the Technical Fabric Sewing Production Manager to address any quality-related concerns and implement process improvements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to address quality concerns related to materials and components.
  • Coordinate with the Product Testing and R&D teams to ensure that race suits meet required performance standards and safety regulations.
  • Generate regular quality control reports and performance metrics to share with senior management, highlighting areas of excellence and improvement.
  • Act as a point of contact for customer feedback related to product quality, addressing concerns, and implementing improvements as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality assurance, Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in quality control management within the textile, apparel, or related manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of technical textiles, fabric properties, and garment construction techniques, especially as they relate to race suit production.
  • Expertise in quality control methodologies, defect identification, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.  
  • Experience with quality control tools and techniques such as Six Sigma, Lean, statistical process control (SPC), and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and consistency in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong communication skills to convey quality expectations to production teams and collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in using quality control software and databases for documentation and analysis.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to preventing and addressing quality issues.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations in the apparel manufacturing industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or advanced certification in Quality Assurance, Textile Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in quality control management specifically within a custom cut and sew garment manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with racing or motorsports industry requirements for safety, performance, and quality.
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining ISO quality management systems.
