The Maintenance Manager (Regional Operations Manager) is responsible for overseeing operational maintenance delivery across the region, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals and supporting the Customer Value Proposition. A significant focus of this role is on Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) compliance, dedicating at least 70% of time to validating HSSE delivery and proactively managing supplier performance to meet service expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for all HSSE requirements, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with the HSSE team to conduct supplier accreditation for new vendors and maintain a re-accreditation system.
- Manage the Permit to Work (PTW) system, providing necessary training and verifying supplier qualifications.
- Promote and monitor safe work practices, fostering a culture that emphasizes genuine safety engagement rather than procedural compliance.
- Conduct Asset Condition Surveys for service stations within the designated area.
- Prepare for bi-weekly and monthly Market Unit meetings to review operational performance and ensure adherence to the annual planning cycle, including budget phasing, cost allocation, and supplier spend profiling.
- Analyze monthly variances between actual and planned expenditures, adjusting forecasts based on the latest data.
- Verify invoices related to service station maintenance to confirm accuracy of billed costs.
- Evaluate equipment repair or replacement needs, recommending cost-effective and efficient solutions.
- Perform quality checks on recently completed maintenance and repair work to ensure standards are met.
- Coordinate with the PSC team to maintain up-to-date asset data.
- Respond promptly to emergency call-outs and secure work sites as necessary.
- Liaise with the Project Management Contractor (PMC) to minimize site disruptions during projects and ensure equipment data is accurately updated in Maximo.
- Work with the country Supply Chain Manager to develop and monitor procurement strategies, including supplier re-tendering, renegotiation, and contingency planning.
- Proactively manage the supplier base through regular operational meetings to review performance against contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with the Centre of Excellence (COE) to share knowledge and best practices across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in facilities maintenance with a strong focus on HSSE management.
- Experience in maintaining fuel station sites and knowledge of the petroleum industry is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and the relevant local or regional language.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated planning, organizational, interpersonal, and conceptual skills.
