Maintenance Technician/Officer

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Officer to join our team at the PVC Foam Board Production facility located in Port Qasim, Karachi. This full-time position operates on a 12-hour shift basis and requires a candidate with 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, reliable, and efficient operation of the PVC foam board production line and its supporting utilities. The role demands expertise in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plastic extrusion machinery as well as associated equipment such as industrial chillers, air compressors, pumps, motors, and gearboxes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on PVC foam board extrusion machinery to maintain optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and maintain extruders, twin-screw systems, gearboxes, motors, drives, vacuum systems, calibration equipment, haul-off units, and cutting units.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain industrial chillers and cooling-water circulation systems to ensure efficient temperature control.
- Maintain industrial air compressors, air dryers, filters, and compressed-air systems to support production needs.
- Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical faults promptly to minimize machine downtime and production interruptions.
- Monitor critical parameters including lubrication, vibration, temperature, bearings, seals, and gearbox oil condition to prevent equipment failures.
- Identify root causes of recurring breakdowns and implement effective corrective actions to improve machine reliability.
- Maintain accurate preventive maintenance schedules, breakdown reports, inspection checklists, and spare parts inventory records.
- Proactively identify potential equipment issues before they lead to production stoppages, ensuring continuous operation.

Required Qualifications:
- Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or an equivalent technical qualification is preferred.
- 3 to 7 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience, particularly in manufacturing environments.
- Strong practical knowledge of industrial chillers, screw/rotary air compressors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and pneumatic systems.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Experience in PVC or plastic extrusion processes such as pipe, profile, sheet, foam board, or Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) manufacturing is highly desirable.
- The ideal candidate is proactive, with a strong focus on preventive maintenance rather than reactive repairs. They take ownership of equipment reliability and actively work to reduce unplanned downtime through regular inspections and timely corrective actions.
- Competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 150,000.
- This position requires the candidate to work on-site at the production facility.
