Zonergy Solar Development Pakistan, a multinational Chinese company, is seeking a Manager Commercial & Supply Chain Planning to join their team in Islamabad. Reporting directly to the Director Asia Pacific, this role focuses exclusively on the solar industry. The successful candidate will lead commercial, strategic sourcing, and supply chain operations, including developing project cost models, negotiating major supply contracts with Tier-1 solar suppliers, managing SAP/ERP procurement workflows, and optimizing vendor performance across solar hardware and EPC project lines. This position requires strong analytical skills in financial and cost modeling, hands-on experience in solar hardware procurement, and a proven ability to drive cost savings and improve logistics efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Commercial Engineering & EPC Costing: Develop and maintain dynamic cost estimation models and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for commercial and industrial (C&I) as well as utility-scale solar projects. Conduct detailed Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) analyses for major equipment such as Tier-1 solar modules, inverters, transformers, and structural racking or trackers. Monitor market trends in solar commodities like polysilicon, steel, copper, and freight to forecast material costs and mitigate pricing risks.

- Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Management: Oversee the entire Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes, including technical evaluations, commercial negotiations, and contract awards. Build and maintain a qualified vendor database for Tier-1 suppliers across modules, inverters, Balance of System (BOS) components, and EPC subcontractors. Negotiate high-value supply agreements covering warranty terms, performance guarantees, Incoterms, payment milestones, and service level agreements.

- Operational Excellence & Process Digitization: Streamline SAP/ERP procurement workflows encompassing Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Purchase Orders (POs), vendor billing, and milestone-based payments. Establish and digitize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for procurement and inventory management. Design and implement automated procurement tracking dashboards and executive reporting tools for senior leadership.

- Performance Optimization & KPI Management: Regularly track and analyze key performance indicators, providing root-cause analysis and recommending corrective actions. Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Project Management, and Finance teams to optimize logistics, improve supply chain timelines, and prevent project delays.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical), Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 to 6 years of experience in supply chain management, commercial procurement, or related roles within the electrical or solar industry.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP/ERP procurement modules and MS Excel, including VBA, Pivot Tables, and XLOOKUP, with strong financial and cost modeling skills.
- In-depth knowledge of solar hardware components and industry-specific procurement practices.
- Strong competencies in data-driven decision-making, contract negotiation, strategic vendor management, cross-functional project execution, and proactive problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

While not explicitly stated, candidates with a proven track record of cost savings initiatives, experience negotiating complex contracts with Tier-1 solar manufacturers or EPC subcontractors, and hands-on ERP procurement workflow management will be highly valued. The role offers a competitive monthly salary range of PKR 140,000 to PKR 170,000 and requires in-person work at the Islamabad office.

Applicants will be asked to provide details about their current salary, examples of cost-saving projects or sourcing initiatives in solar or electrical projects, ERP system proficiency, experience sourcing major solar components for C&I projects, financial modeling skills in Excel, and negotiation experience with Tier-1 solar suppliers or EPC subcontractors.
