The Manager Corporate Finance will play a critical role in supporting the Chief Finance Officer with investment decisions, financial projections, and modeling. This position involves developing and implementing effective financial systems and practices to ensure sound financial planning and budgetary management. The role requires close collaboration with various stakeholders to evaluate financial proposals, negotiate project funding, and recommend investment strategies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in finance, particularly within financial institutions, and possess a strong understanding of both domestic and international investment practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Planning: Develop comprehensive financial plans to establish and maintain effective financial systems and practices within the organization.
- Budgetary Management: Design and implement internal budgetary schemes while recommending strategies to improve overall budget management.
- Financial Evaluation: Conduct financial evaluations of project proposals following technical approval, serving as an internal evaluator in line with criteria set by the R&D Fund Company.
- Pre-approval Negotiations: Engage with Principal Investigators to negotiate financial aspects of project proposals, including required and proposed funds and related matters.
- Investment Strategies: Recommend investment strategies for managing the residual funds of the Ignite Company to optimize returns and align with organizational goals.
- Fund Raising: Coordinate efforts to secure funding from complementary sources at both national and international levels.
- Provision of Assistance and Advice: Provide ongoing assistance and expert financial advice to the CFO on all financial matters and activities related to the R&D Fund Company.
- Project Recommendation: Prepare and forward recommendations and presentations to the CFO, CEO, Board, and Finance & Administration Committee regarding evaluated and approved projects.
Required Qualifications
- MBA in Finance or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification.
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience, preferably within a financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary investment practices both domestically and internationally.
