Manager Import & Export

We are looking for an experienced Manager Import & Export to lead and manage our company’s import and export operations based in Karachi, Pakistan. This full-time role demands a professional who can oversee all facets of international trade activities, ensuring effective coordination among various stakeholders and strict compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end import/export processes, handling banking transactions, and maintaining smooth communication across departments to support the company’s trade functions.

Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate the entire import and export process to ensure seamless execution from initiation to completion. Liaise with banks and financial institutions to efficiently handle import/export transactions, payments, documentation, and trade finance matters. Oversee export proceeds, import payments, and related banking documentation to guarantee timely processing and accuracy. Coordinate foreign exchange activities and USD bookings, ensuring all banking requirements are met promptly. Administer all documentation and procedures related to imports, exports, shipments, and customs clearance to maintain compliance and operational efficiency. Prepare and manage tender documentation and submissions as required by the company’s procurement processes. Monitor shipment schedules and transaction timelines to ensure adherence to deadlines. Ensure strict compliance with banking regulations, customs laws, import/export policies, and other relevant regulatory frameworks. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all import/export transactions, payments, documentation, and correspondence. Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Finance, Accounts, Procurement, and Operations to streamline workflows and resolve any operational, documentation, or banking issues related to import/export transactions promptly.

Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field is essential. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in Import & Export, with considerable exposure to banking and trade finance operations. Strong knowledge of import/export documentation and banking procedures is required. Practical experience working with commercial banks, including handling foreign exchange transactions, import payments, and export proceeds, is necessary. Familiarity with Letters of Credit (LCs), Telegraphic Transfers (TT payments), Goods Declarations (GDs), customs documentation, and international trade procedures is expected. Excellent coordination, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are critical for success in this role. Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and documentation management tools, is required to manage records and reports effectively.
