Manager- Own Impact Reduction

Support UBL's Own Impact Reduction agenda by coordinating various initiatives aimed at minimizing the Bank’s environmental footprint. This role involves close collaboration with business lines, support functions, and international operations to implement programs focused on energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste management, water conservation, sustainable procurement, greenhouse gas (GHG) management, and other environmental sustainability efforts. All activities will align with UBL’s sustainability strategy and comply with relevant regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the implementation of the Bank’s Own Impact Reduction Strategy and its annual roadmap to achieve sustainability goals.
- Assist business units and support functions in reducing environmental impacts and enhancing resource efficiency across operations.
- Coordinate initiatives such as energy efficiency projects, renewable energy adoption, Green Branch programs, LED lighting conversions, and other sustainability efforts.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and reporting of the Bank’s GHG inventory and support decarbonization initiatives.
- Manage the collection, validation, and reporting of environmental data from Pakistan and GCC operations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with Administration, Facilities, Procurement, IT, Operations, HR, and various business units to drive sustainability initiatives effectively.
- Promote waste reduction, recycling programs, water conservation measures, and paperless banking initiatives to support environmental goals.
- Monitor environmental key performance indicators (KPIs) and assist in preparing reports for management, the Board, and regulatory authorities.
- Support the Green Branch Certification process and lead environmental awareness programs to foster a culture of sustainability within the organization.
- Identify opportunities to reduce emissions, improve overall environmental performance, and achieve operational cost savings.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress on Own Impact Reduction initiatives.

Required Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in sustainability, environmental management, ESG, facilities management, energy management, or related fields.
- Proven experience in coordinating sustainability initiatives and environmental reporting is advantageous.
