Based in Karachi, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Production Manager to lead and optimize our food manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production targets are met efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food safety and quality standards. This role demands strong leadership, operational expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The Production Manager will collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Warehouse, and R&D teams to maintain smooth production flow, control costs, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver products on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily manufacturing plant operations, ensuring production targets are achieved efficiently and safely.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor production schedules to meet customer deadlines while optimizing resource utilization.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the manufacturing team to uphold operational excellence, safety, and quality standards.
- Implement and maintain best practices such as lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, fostering a safe and incident-free workplace.
- Monitor and control production costs, budgets, and wastage to maximize profitability.
- Collaborate with R&D and Supply Chain to ensure accuracy and control of Bill of Materials (BOM), monitoring material consumption and reporting variances.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and production processes to maintain optimal operational condition.
- Drive quality assurance procedures to meet company standards and customer expectations.
- Manage material arrangements through the production ERP system, ensuring material consumption aligns with approved BOMs.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Logistics, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain accurate production records in the ERP system and prepare reports for management review and compliance audits.
- Lead capacity planning, process improvement, and automation initiatives to enhance productivity.
- Investigate and resolve production issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
- Develop and implement safety policies and training programs to promote a safety-first culture.
- Ensure adherence to environmental standards, waste management, and sustainability initiatives.
- Maintain food regulatory compliance, including PSQCA and other organizational requirements, to ensure food safety and continuous quality improvement.
- Coordinate collaborative work with R&D, including New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD).
- Ensure production data accuracy in ERP and management systems for traceability and informed decision-making.
- Monitor compliance with the production schedule (CTS), tracking daily adherence and reporting to management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support business objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a Production Manager or similar leadership role within the Food & Beverage Manufacturing Industry.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, inventory management, BOM control, ERP systems, and manufacturing processes.
- Solid understanding of GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, PSQCA requirements, and food safety regulations.
- Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, waste reduction, and productivity enhancement initiatives.
- Excellent leadership, team management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and cross-functional coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP-based manufacturing systems.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience in food processing, FMCG, bakery, confectionery, snacks, beverages, or related food manufacturing sectors.
- Hands-on experience collaborating with R&D teams on New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD).
- Strong focus on operational excellence, quality, food safety, and continuous improvement.
- Competitive monthly salary ranging from PKR 250,000 to PKR 300,000.
- Work location is in person at Gulberg Town, Karachi.
