The Aga Khan University Hospital’s Clinical Labs and Outreach Health Services division is seeking a Manager for Sales & Marketing to lead growth initiatives in the South Karachi Region. This role is critical in driving business expansion and operational excellence across clinical laboratory and outreach services. The successful candidate will develop and implement commercial strategies, broaden the customer and referral base, and build strong partnerships with hospitals, healthcare providers, corporate clients, pharmaceutical companies, and other stakeholders. They will also ensure high service quality, regulatory compliance, resource optimization, and deliver an exceptional patient and client experience.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies that align with regional healthcare demands and organizational objectives. Identify and pursue new business opportunities across corporate accounts, hospitals, clinics, and institutional clients to increase laboratory test volumes, revenue, and market penetration. Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, healthcare institutions, corporate clients, insurance organizations, and pharmaceutical companies. Conduct thorough market analysis to monitor healthcare trends, competitor activities, and customer needs, identifying opportunities for expansion. Lead customer acquisition and retention efforts with effective follow-up on clients and referring physicians.
Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to implement sales campaigns, health screening initiatives, Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities, and outreach programs. Monitor regional sales plans, key performance indicators, revenue targets, customer acquisition metrics, and service utilization. Ensure seamless integration of Clinical Laboratory, Outreach Phlebotomy Centers, Outreach Laboratories, and Medical Centers. Lead and mentor cross-functional teams to achieve business and service objectives. Track market performance, revenue, volumes, profitability, and expenditures, taking corrective actions when necessary.
Develop strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance growth and visibility. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost control, turnaround time, throughput, occupancy, and patient/provider experience. Oversee outreach activities including specimen collection, health screening, wellness, and CME events. Manage inventory control and maintenance of equipment and facilities, coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance. Enhance patient satisfaction and experience across all regional services. Prepare and manage annual budgets, staffing, and infrastructure planning in line with market demands and organizational priorities. Ensure compliance with CAP, JCIA, and other regulatory standards through audits and act as the regional focal point for regulatory and legal matters.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree from a reputable university, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Management, or a related field. Five to seven years of relevant experience in sales, business development, commercial operations, marketing, or healthcare service management, ideally within pharmaceutical, diagnostics, clinical laboratory, medical devices, or healthcare sectors. Strong understanding of healthcare and diagnostics markets with proven success in business development, institutional sales, key account management, or market expansion. Demonstrated ability to achieve sales and revenue targets, develop new business, and maintain long-term client relationships. Experience managing and motivating sales or business development teams, preferably in healthcare-related industries. Knowledge of clinical laboratory and diagnostic services with the ability to translate market needs into business opportunities. Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills. Strong business acumen and leadership capabilities to guide large, cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience in pharmaceutical, diagnostics, clinical laboratory, medical centers, or healthcare services with established networks among hospitals, physicians, corporate clients, and healthcare institutions is highly desirable.
