As part of EY’s Valuation, Modeling, and Economic Advisory (VME) team, you will support clients in strategic planning, transaction-related decisions, and value creation assessments across diverse industries such as Real Estate, Hospitality, Construction, Corporate Business Modeling, Government Public Sector, Economic Advisory, Decision Analytics, and Capital Equipment. You will work closely with clients to provide insights on financial reporting, market valuation, and strategic priorities, helping them unlock value and make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
As a VME Manager, you will focus on commercial issues, collaborating with management during acquisitions or transformation initiatives. Your role includes conducting valuations aligned with strategic priorities, understanding business drivers, and co-developing valuation approaches with clients. You will deliver value through insightful analysis, factual conclusions, and professional advice. Your technical contributions will involve thorough research and analysis of target businesses and their markets, preparing and reviewing deliverables such as financial models, reports, presentations, and client discussions. Additionally, you will foster a positive learning environment for junior team members, support their development, take ownership of your own learning, provide coaching, and engage in upward feedback processes.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should hold at least a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or business, with a minimum of six years’ experience in business valuation. Proven expertise in financial modeling and appraisal across various sectors is essential. You should have performed multiple business valuations using methods such as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Guideline Public Companies, and Precedent Transactions, as well as purchase price allocations. Experience in developing complex financial models, including debt financing, preparing feasibility studies, and reviewing third-party appraisal reports is required. A deep understanding of valuation fundamentals—including discounts and premiums, option pricing models, Probability-Weighted Expected Return Method (PWERM), and intangible asset valuation—is necessary. Familiarity with IFRS standards related to fair value measurement, business combinations, and impairment testing is also expected.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Ideal candidates will have prior valuation and modeling experience within a professional services environment, preferably a Big 4 firm. Progress toward or achievement of CFA or other relevant professional certifications is advantageous. Knowledge of the broader GCC/MENA markets and Arabic language skills are desirable but not mandatory.
