Manager SQA - I

We are seeking an experienced QA leader to define and drive a comprehensive quality assurance strategy encompassing both manual and automated testing. This role involves leading a high-performing engineering team, promoting technical ownership, mentorship, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will architect and maintain scalable test automation frameworks to enhance testing efficiency, coverage, and speed across multiple product lines. Collaboration with DevOps, Development teams, and stakeholders is essential to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and align testing efforts with business goals and release schedules.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and implement a robust QA strategy that balances manual and automated testing approaches while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning within the team.
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks to improve testing velocity and coverage across all products.
- Collaborate closely with DevOps and Development teams to embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless continuous testing and deployment.
- Partner with Product Managers, Developers, and other stakeholders to ensure testing activities align with business requirements, project timelines, and release plans.
- Execute complex SQL queries for thorough data reconciliation, perform API load and performance testing, and validate security measures against vulnerabilities following OWASP standards.
- Utilize AI tools and assisted testing practices to optimize test case generation, enhance defect analysis, and broaden overall test coverage.
- Lead release planning, environment coordination, production deployments, smoke testing, and post-release verification to ensure quality and stability.
- Support production incident management by driving Root Cause Analysis (RCA), managing defect resolution, and tracking critical quality and performance metrics.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 10–11+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, including leadership or team management roles.
- Extensive experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) with deep knowledge of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC). Proven ability to design and implement comprehensive manual and automated testing strategies, test plans, and release coordination protocols.
- Hands-on expertise in designing and implementing scalable automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium and TestNG, with experience in cross-platform, cross-browser, and API testing using Postman and SoapUI.
- Strong proficiency in relational databases and the ability to write complex SQL queries for backend data verification and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated experience in load and performance testing of APIs and microservices using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner. Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 security risks and experience using security scanning tools such as OWASP ZAP and Burp Suite.
- Practical exposure to integrating AI-assisted testing tools (e.g., Cursor, large language models) into QA workflows to optimize regression testing and defect prioritization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage stress, meet tight deadlines, and effectively mentor and develop team members.
