Manager Taxation

We are looking for an experienced Manager, Tax & Compliance to oversee all direct and indirect tax matters for a reputable organization based in Karachi. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with tax regulations, managing filings, assessments, and audits, while providing expert advice to management on the tax implications of business decisions and legislative changes. The successful candidate will lead the taxation team, driving effective tax strategies and maintaining strong relationships with tax authorities.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead all aspects of direct and indirect taxation, including income tax, sales tax, and withholding tax.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns and statements, along with prompt payment of taxes.
- Manage tax assessments, audits, notices, and appeals, serving as the primary liaison with tax authorities.
- Review and analyze the tax implications of business transactions, contracts, and agreements.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise management on their potential impact.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize risks and liabilities.
- Collaborate with external tax consultants, auditors, and government officials as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive tax records, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure audit readiness.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities related to taxation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the taxation team to enhance their capabilities and performance.

Required Qualifications

- MBA degree, with ACCA or ACAM certification preferred.
- 8 to 10 years of relevant taxation experience within Pakistan.
- In-depth knowledge of Pakistan’s direct and indirect tax laws, including income tax, sales tax, and withholding tax.
- Proven hands-on experience managing tax assessments, audits, notices, and appeals.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a taxation team effectively.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of handling multiple deadlines efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Candidates currently based in Karachi or willing to relocate to Karachi.
- Competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs. 200,000 to Rs. 300,000.
- The position requires working on-site at the Karachi office.
