In this hourly, remote contractor position, you will serve as a Market Research Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for reviewing AI-generated market research outputs and creating expert research deliverables. Your role involves evaluating the quality of reasoning and analytical processes, while providing precise written feedback. You will assess solutions for accuracy, clarity, methodological soundness, and adherence to project prompts. This includes identifying errors in research design, sampling logic, survey construction, bias or confounding factors, competitive analysis, market sizing (TAM/SAM/SOM), and insight synthesis. Additionally, you will fact-check claims and data usage, write clear explanations and model deliverables that demonstrate correct research reasoning, and rate multiple AI-generated responses based on correctness, usefulness, and reasoning quality. Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI Training Content by creating detailed prompts and gold-standard market research outputs such as research plans, briefs, survey instruments, insight summaries, and competitor scans.
- Optimize AI Performance by evaluating and ranking AI responses to enhance methodological rigor, clarity, and practical usefulness.
- Ensure Model Integrity by testing AI outputs for inaccuracies, misleading claims, biased framing, and improper evidence use, while validating reliability across various industries and use cases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Business, Economics, Statistics, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in market research, consumer insights, strategy, or analytics within agency, consulting, or in-house environments.
- Strong understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including interviews, focus groups, surveys, and familiarity with conjoint or MaxDiff techniques (optional), along with basic experimental design thinking.
- Proven ability to create and critically evaluate research instruments, including question wording, scales, survey flow, screening, and quality control measures.
- Excellent analytical reasoning skills, capable of translating ambiguous questions into testable hypotheses, comprehensive research plans, and actionable conclusions.
- Comfortable with market sizing and forecasting logic, including making assumptions, triangulating data, and performing sensitivity analyses.
- Exceptional attention to detail in identifying flawed methodologies, overconfident conclusions, weak evidence, or fabricated data, with a minimum English proficiency of C1 level.
- Reliable, self-directed, and able to consistently deliver high-quality work in a remote, hourly contractor setting across multiple time zones.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
