The incumbent is responsible for monitoring cost allocation and conducting detailed variance analysis to highlight areas for financial improvement and operational efficiency. This role also involves reviewing and validating departmental consumption of medical supplies, working closely with various hospital departments to collect and analyze relevant cost data for financial accuracy. Additionally, the Assistant Manager leads the annual operating and capital budgeting processes by collaborating with department heads to prepare comprehensive revenue and expense budgets. This position consolidates these departmental budgets into a unified hospital master budget and tracks budget utilization to detect significant variances. The role requires preparing detailed budget versus actual analyses, explaining variances, and generating periodic budget forecasts and revisions to support sound financial planning and decision-making. Managing a small team of two professionals, the Assistant Manager ensures accurate financial reporting and compliance with internal audit standards through preparation of monthly, quarterly, and management reports on costing, budget performance, and financial analysis.
Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed costing models using established costing methodologies to determine accurate costs of hospital services.
Monitor and analyze cost allocations and cost drivers, conducting variance analyses between budgeted and actual expenses to identify opportunities for cost optimization.
Review and validate departmental consumption data, particularly for medical supplies, coordinating with respective departments to ensure accurate and timely cost-related data collection.
Coordinate the hospitals annual operating and capital budgeting processes by assisting department heads in preparing detailed and realistic revenue and expense budgets.
Consolidate all departmental budgets into a comprehensive master budget and continuously monitor budget utilization to identify significant variances that require attention.
Perform budget versus actual cost analyses, providing clear and actionable variance explanations to guide management decision-making.
Prepare periodic budget forecasts and revisions, supporting proactive financial planning and strategic allocation of resources.
Generate detailed monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc management reports reflecting costing, budget performance, and financial analysis to inform leadership.
Ensure compliance with internal audit standards regarding financial reporting and budget monitoring practices.
Manage and mentor a team of two professionals, overseeing daily tasks, providing guidance, and fostering a productive work environment.
