Master Core Industries Pvt Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented Retail Sales Accountant with at least 2 years of experience to join our finance team. The Retail Sales Accountant plays a critical role in managing daily sales transactions, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of cash and credit sales, and maintaining comprehensive financial records related to retail operations. This position requires expertise in financial reporting, retail sales analysis, and general ledger accounting to support the companys financial goals. The role does not involve managing a team but demands strong collaboration with other departments to maintain financial accuracy and compliance.
The successful candidate will apply advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and utilize retail accounting and expense tracking software to monitor revenue streams, expenses, and inventory transactions. The Retail Sales Accountant will be responsible for analyzing retail sales reports, identifying trends, and assisting in the preparation of reports that drive informed business decisions. This role requires an individual who is organized, analytical, and able to effectively communicate financial information across various levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily retail sales transactions, including cash and credit reconciliations, to ensure accurate financial recording.
- Maintain and update the general ledger with retail sales and expense data to reflect true financial status.
- Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly retail sales reports to identify sales trends, revenue patterns, and areas of concern.
- Perform expense tracking and maintain detailed records related to retail operations using relevant accounting software.
- Collaborate with inventory and sales departments to ensure accurate recording of inventory transactions and stock valuation.
- Support the finance department with financial reporting activities related to retail sales, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations.
- Conduct detailed data analysis using Excel and other tools to identify discrepancies, improve accuracy, and support financial decision-making.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing reconciliations of sales accounts and verifying expenses.
- Ensure accuracy in retail accounting software data entry and troubleshoot any discrepancies or errors promptly.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of all sales and financial records to facilitate audit processes and internal controls.
- Stay up to date with retail accounting best practices and implement improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
