- Identify cases of children in need, and receive referrals and admission cases for further processing.
- Provide services to children and their families through case planning and management.
- Collects, consolidates, and analyzes information to assess the needs and risks of children and families in order to provide appropriate child protection services.
- Refers to support services within and outside the CPU, community resources and relevant service providers.
- Monitors, reviews and evaluates case progress / compliance and makes appropriate changes in consultation with Child Protection Manager
- Coordinate with service providers to provide services to the client (children) and family.
- Initiate a case advisory committee to coordinate and review interventions and ensure services for the individual child are consistent with the best interests of the child.
- Maintain comprehensive and confidential records of children's cases.
- Support in maintaining a database of vulnerable children and families.
- Support in maintaining a database of all service providers and/or Reference Partners.
- Submit a weekly summary to the Head of Child Protection or designated CPU contact person and submit a monthly report to the CPU.
- Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the community and departmental resources to act as liaison and identify gaps.
- Coordination and support of CBOs for child protection.
- Empower and work with communities and families to design local solutions to protect children in local communities.
