INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking a skilled Mechanical Draftsman to join its Wellhead and Skids Solutions team. This role plays a crucial part in advancing process automation projects across various sectors including Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Utilities, and Renewable Energy. The successful candidate will contribute to innovative projects involving Integrated Control Systems, SCADA Virtualization, Wellhead Automation, and Telecommunication, helping to drive operational excellence and technological innovation. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and 2D/3D digital models for mechanical equipment and piping systems.
- Apply knowledge of international codes, standards, and industry best practices related to piping design and drafting.
- Develop 2D and 3D models for FEED-level piping and equipment designs, including skid-based structures and components.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing personnel to clarify project requirements, verify design details, and recommend modifications aligned with company standards.
- Create plans, details, sections, layouts, and fabrication drawings that clearly communicate construction and manufacturing needs.
- Maintain drafting standards, design documentation, drawing registers, and logs throughout project lifecycles.
- Review and verify Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for accuracy and completeness.
- Incorporate red-line markups and ensure all design changes are accurately reflected in final drawings.
- Participate in CAD model reviews and design coordination meetings as needed.
- Ensure compliance of drawings and models with project specifications, engineering requirements, drafting standards, and quality procedures.
- Support engineers and project teams in resolving drafting and design-related issues while adhering to project schedules and deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree or Diploma in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in mechanical and piping drafting, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and at least one 3D design platform such as CADWorx, PDMS, or Tekla.
- Strong understanding of piping layouts, equipment arrangements, skid-based systems, and mechanical fabrication requirements.
- Good knowledge of applicable international codes and standards for piping design and drafting.
- Excellent technical communication and coordination skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in preparing technical drawings and 3D models.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables and work efficiently under strict project deadlines.
