Mechanical Estimation Engineer (AutoCAD Expert)

We are seeking a skilled Design and Estimation Engineer with expertise in portable cabins, prefabricated buildings, and modular structures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings, preparing accurate cost estimates, and coordinating with various teams to ensure project success. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple aspects of design and costing within fabrication and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and prepare 2D AutoCAD drawings for portable cabins, prefabricated buildings, modular structures, and related installations.
- Develop detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material take-offs, cost estimates, and quotations for fabrication and construction projects.
- Create layouts, fabrication drawings, structural framing details, partition plans, roofing details, and installation drawings.
- Calculate material quantities and costs for steel structures, sandwich panels, insulation, flooring, ceilings, doors, windows, and finishing materials.
- Estimate labor, fabrication, transportation, installation, and other project-related expenses.
- Review client requirements, technical specifications, and drawings to develop practical and cost-effective designs.
- Coordinate with production, fabrication, procurement, and project teams to ensure design accuracy and material availability.
- Obtain supplier quotations, perform price comparisons, and maintain updated material and costing databases.
- Conduct site measurements, verify dimensions, and revise drawings and estimates as necessary.
- Ensure all designs and estimates comply with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in design, estimation, and costing of portable cabins, prefabricated buildings, or modular structures.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D is essential; knowledge of 3D design software is considered an advantage.
- Practical experience with fabrication drawings, steel framing, sandwich panels, insulation, and building finishing materials.
- Expertise in preparing BOQs, material take-offs, costing, and developing quotations.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and technical documentation.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Compensation and Work Location

The position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs70,000 to Rs120,000. This is an in-person role requiring the candidate to work onsite.
