Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - TJ / 1921495

Our client, Shangrila Foods (Pvt) Ltd., is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer based in Karachi. The engineer will play a critical role in implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles and conducting condition monitoring to predict equipment failures and prevent unexpected breakdowns. This position involves ensuring the availability of spare parts to avoid repair delays and maintaining motor control centers along with various factory machinery at optimal performance levels through both preventive and corrective maintenance. The ideal candidate will have expertise in servicing workshop machinery, handling alignment equipment, and resolving mechanical faults, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement within the plant maintenance team.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving to uphold the highest standards of equipment reliability, which are essential to Shangrila Foods’ manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules aimed at reducing machine downtime and enhancing equipment reliability.
- Utilize predictive maintenance techniques and conduct condition monitoring to forecast potential failures and plan timely repairs.
- Troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues efficiently and apply effective fault resolution methods.
- Lead total productive maintenance activities to improve equipment efficiency and extend machinery lifespan.
- Use SAP S/4HANA PM/MM modules for maintenance planning, managing work orders, and coordinating spare parts.
- Analyze key maintenance metrics such as Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) to identify improvement opportunities and minimize downtime.
- Interpret technical drawings and AutoCAD layouts to support accurate maintenance planning and fault diagnosis.
- Service workshop machinery and operate alignment equipment to ensure precise mechanical operations.
- Perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on motor control centers and all factory machinery.
- Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure the timely availability of spare parts and materials.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records, logs, and reports to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Follow health and safety protocols strictly to maintain a safe working environment during maintenance activities.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimize disruptions to manufacturing schedules during maintenance.
- Identify and recommend improvements to maintenance strategies, including system upgrades and workflow enhancements.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of TPM principles and condition monitoring techniques.
- Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA PM/MM modules for maintenance management.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and AutoCAD layouts.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment.
- Experience with workshop machinery servicing and alignment tools.
