You'll be responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, understanding plan benefits, and confirming eligibility to ensure smooth billing and reimbursement processes. You’ll be a critical part of the revenue cycle process, helping prevent claim denials and delays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for patients via payer portals and phone calls.
  • Document verified details including copay, deductible, out-of-pocket maximums, and coverage limitations.
  • Communicate findings to internal billing teams for further processing.
  • Identify and escalate coverage issues or discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance guidelines and payer requirements.
  • Meet daily/weekly targets and maintain a high level of accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in US healthcare billing or VOB/Eligibility verification.
  • Strong understanding of insurance terminology (PPO, HMO, EPO, etc.).
  • Familiarity with payer portals and clearinghouses.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be comfortable working night shifts.
