Medical Billing Specialist

FizzTech Consultancy is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare revenue cycle management team in Pakistan. This full-time position requires a solid understanding of the US healthcare billing process, with a focus on accurate, timely, and compliant claims submission as well as diligent payment follow-up. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth billing operations and supporting healthcare providers in maximizing their revenue.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit medical claims to insurance companies with high accuracy.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefits before submitting claims.
- Identify and resolve billing errors to minimize claim denials.
- Follow up on unpaid, rejected, and denied claims to ensure timely resolution.
- Investigate claim denials and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Accurately post insurance and patient payments into the system.
- Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and pursue outstanding balances proactively.
- Communicate effectively with insurance companies regarding claim status, eligibility, and payments.
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs) for accuracy.
- Maintain precise billing records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with medical coders and internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Identify recurring denial patterns and reimbursement issues, reporting findings to management.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of patient and client information at all times.
- Meet daily and monthly productivity and accuracy targets consistently.

Required Qualifications
- 1 to 3+ years of experience in US medical billing or revenue cycle management (RCM) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of US healthcare insurance and medical billing processes.
- Experience with claim submission, denial management, AR follow-up, and payment posting.
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
- Understanding of EOBs, ERAs, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience working with US-based physicians, clinics, or healthcare organizations.
- Knowledge of specialties such as Primary Care, Mental Health, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, or Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with clearinghouses and payer portals.
- Strong expertise in denial prevention and revenue recovery strategies.
- Ability to analyze AR reports and identify outstanding revenue opportunities.
