Medical Underwriter

We are seeking a skilled Medical Underwriter based in M.M Alam Road, Lahore, with a minimum of three years of experience in the medical field. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating medical risks associated with individual life insurance proposals by thoroughly reviewing medical reports, tests, and investigations. This role requires adherence to underwriting guidelines and the Authority Matrix to ensure accurate and compliant decision-making. The Medical Underwriter will also collaborate closely with branches, Direct Distribution teams, Compliance departments, medical bodies, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate timely and effective case resolutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess medical risks and make informed underwriting decisions for individual life insurance proposals.
- Review and analyze medical reports, laboratory tests, and other relevant investigations to determine risk levels.
- Ensure all underwriting activities comply with established guidelines and the Authority Matrix.
- Coordinate with internal teams such as branches, Direct Distribution, and Compliance to streamline the underwriting process.
- Liaise with external medical bodies and stakeholders to gather necessary information and expedite case handling.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of underwriting decisions and communications.
- Manage workload efficiently to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards under pressure.

Required Qualifications
- A graduate holding an MBBS degree from a recognized medical school or university.
- At least three years of professional experience in the medical field, preferably related to underwriting or risk assessment.
- Strong analytical and judgment skills to evaluate complex medical information effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills for effective stakeholder management and coordination.
- Self-motivated, result-oriented, and proactive with a strong sense of initiative.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
