General Position Summary

  • The Program Officer should be a self-motivated and analytically capable individual who will be responsible to support and optimize the operations of the Specimen Transportation intervention. S/he will be primarily responsible for day-to-day management, administration and logistics related matters of the intervention activities.

Essential Job Responsibilities 

  • Assist in developing intervention related work plan in coordination with Coordinator Specimen Transportation
  • Support in record keeping and maintaining activities log to track on daily basis the tasks assigned to the implementing partners and health facilities
  • Monitor the dashboard on daily basis to analyze the performance of the intervention  
  • Generate, periodic reports to assess the quality of the interventions. Share these repots within the team and with the implementing partners and follow-up on identified issues with the support of Senior Project Officers
  • Be responsible for managing issues and requests by maintaining an Issues Log
  • Process payment requests, procurement requests, and other relevant documentation related to specimen transportation intervention
  • Desk monitoring to ensures that all reporting and operational tasks of the intervention are done in a timely way and ensure its quality
  • Conduct field visits as and when required to monitor the progress of the riders engaged in specimen transportation and submit field visit report to Coordinator Specimen Transportation within one week
  • Assists in drafting the scope of work, enhancement list, issue list, and other required documents for vendor/partners
  • Supervise all the logistic and operational arrangements related to specimen transportation
  • Coordinate with all internal and external stakeholders as and when required
  • Any other task as assigned by the supervisor

Accountability 

Reports Directly To: Coordinator Specimen Transportation

Works Directly With: Finance and Procurement teams, M&E Officers, Data Management Officers, Project Assistant, Field Officers and Senior Project Officers

Knowledge and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s, preferably Master’s degree in Project Management, Development Studies, Public Administration, Sociology, or related area
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in project implementation, with national or international organizations and/or projects, in a closely related field
  • Computer literate and could proficiently use MS Office (especially Excel) Ability to make new and useful ideas of work
  • Knowledge of M&E methodologies, assessment tools and systems, and ability to apply practical experience in planning, monitoring, evaluating, reporting and other practical situations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
