Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Consulting with health facilities (DHQs, THQs, and RHCs) under the proposed project about Infection Prevention and waste management issues, identifying their requirements and providing appropriate solutions
  • Develop and ensure implementing of Infection Prevention and Healthcare Waste Management as per requirement of the HF.
  • To ensure compliance of the procedures specified in the Hospital Waste Management Rules of 2005.
  • Train the waste handling staff regarding safe disposal and provision of related equipment’s for service delivery.
  • Plan the Redressal of problem of hospital wastes arising from the project operation and health care facilities including THQs, RHCs, DHQs, Hubs and ensure its safe disposal according environmental standards.
  • Supervising the transportation of waste to ensure that it takes place efficiently without contaminating air, land or water sources and ensuring compliance with current legislation in the transportation, handling and disposal of waste.
  • Formulating and controlling the budget for waste disposal of the respective HF.
  • Collating statistics and support in compiling relevant reports often to strict deadlines of the respective HFs.
  • Develop training plan as per TNA and assist with the development of information and promotional materials
  • Will ensure each HF hold meetings of WMT on a monthly basis and record meeting minutes.
