The purpose of the Medical Officer is to provide high-quality medical care, diagnosis, and treatment to patients, promoting health and well-being while offering clinical leadership and guidance to staff, patients, and team members. This role ensures comprehensive and compassionate healthcare services, assists in administrative tasks, participates in communication and education of staff and patients, complies with regulatory standards, and engages in peer review and performance evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine patient health status and appropriate treatment plans.
- Manage and coordinate patient care management processes, ensuring timely and effective medical interventions.
- Maintain and update electronic health records accurately to document patient histories, treatments, and outcomes.
- Implement infection prevention and control protocols rigorously to minimize risks of healthcare-associated infections.
- Lead and supervise a team of four healthcare professionals, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care strategies and health promotion initiatives.
- Monitor patient progress and response to treatments, adjusting care plans as necessary for optimal outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with medical regulations and standards set forth by PMDC and MERF Pakistan policies.
- Participate in continuous medical education and training programs to stay updated with the latest clinical practices.
- Provide counseling and education to patients and their families about disease prevention, management, and health maintenance.
- Assist in the procurement and maintenance of medical supplies and diagnostic tools essential for clinical operations.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to patient care activities, maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.
