We are seeking a versatile and creative Mid-Level 3D Modeler & Artist with 2 to 4 years of industry experience to join our art and development team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality 3D assets, including environmental props, hard-surface models, and characters, while supporting an efficient asset pipeline tailored for real-time game engines. Your expertise will extend beyond modeling and texturing to include basic animation, rigging, and generalist 3D art tasks such as UV unwrapping, baking, and engine setup, ensuring all assets are fully production-ready and functional within the game environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high- and low-poly 3D assets, including props, environments, structural elements, and organic models, following stylized or realistic visual directions.
- Develop high-quality PBR textures, UV maps, and material setups using industry-standard tools such as Substance 3D Painter.
- Build basic skeletons and rigs, and create fundamental animations like idle loops, environmental state changes, simple object interactions, and basic character movements when required.
- Import, configure, and optimize 3D models, prefabs/blueprints, and materials directly within game engines such as Unity and/or Unreal Engine.
- Perform technical art tasks including retopology, normal map baking, texture budget management, and polygon count optimization to balance performance and visual fidelity.
- Collaborate closely with technical artists, game designers, and developers to ensure assets meet both technical specifications and artistic vision.
Required Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience as a 3D Modeler, 3D Artist, or 3D Generalist within games, interactive media, or animation production.
- Advanced proficiency in 3D modeling software such as Blender, Autodesk Maya, or 3ds Max.
- Strong skills in texturing software like Substance 3D Painter or Photoshop.
- Solid understanding of 3D art fundamentals including form, scale, silhouette, composition, color theory, and PBR texturing workflows.
- Working knowledge of basic rigging, skinning, and keyframe animation principles applicable to props, vehicles, or secondary elements.
- Hands-on experience integrating and setting up assets, meshes, collision, and materials in Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Familiarity with asset organization, folder structures, and version control systems such as Git, Perforce, or Plastic SCM.
- A portfolio or demo reel demonstrating a clear breakdown of high/low poly workflows, texture maps, topology, and basic animation or in-engine asset setup is required.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Basic understanding of visual shader tools like Unity Shader Graph or Unreal Material Editor.
- Experience with sculpting software such as ZBrush.
- Basic knowledge of lighting, VFX (particles/Niagara), or camera setups within game engines.
- Experience working with motion capture data or basic character rigging toolkits.
Compensation and Work Location
