Mid-Level QA Engineer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to take full ownership of QA activities for assigned mobile and web projects. The ideal candidate will manage the entire QA lifecycle, from reviewing requirements to final release sign-off, ensuring high-quality deliverables within tight deadlines. This role involves extensive manual testing on Android and iOS platforms, as well as building and maintaining automated test suites across mobile, web, and API layers. Collaboration with development teams and active participation in Agile processes are essential to drive continuous improvement and product excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the QA process for assigned projects end to end, including requirement review, test planning, execution, bug tracking, and release sign-off.
- Perform comprehensive manual testing of Android and iOS mobile applications using both real devices and emulators.
- Develop clear and detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios to cover all functional requirements.
- Execute various testing types such as smoke, sanity, regression, functional, and exploratory testing on every build to ensure stability and functionality.
- Conduct static testing through requirement and design reviews, alongside dynamic testing by executing the application.
- Build, maintain, and enhance automated test suites for mobile apps, web applications, and APIs to improve test coverage and efficiency.
- Test APIs using Postman, including running performance tests to assess speed and stability under load conditions.
- Log, track, and retest defects with clear reproduction steps, working closely with developers until issues are resolved.
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline and provide timely reports on release readiness.
- Manage QA activities to meet tight release deadlines without compromising on quality standards.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience in manual QA testing of Android and iOS mobile applications, preferably with React Native frameworks.
- Strong expertise in manual testing methodologies including smoke, sanity, regression, functional, exploratory, and usability testing.
- Familiarity with various testing techniques such as static and dynamic testing, as well as black box, white box, and grey box testing approaches.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Appium, and Cypress, including cross-browser testing capabilities.
- Proficient in API testing using Postman, with experience in creating automated collections for REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter or k6 for load and stress testing scenarios.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript to write and maintain automated test scripts effectively.
- Skilled in test design principles including test plans, test cases, boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, and traceability matrices.
- Experience using bug tracking tools such as Jira, version control systems like Git, and CI/CD platforms including GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Basic understanding of SQL to validate backend data during testing.
- Solid grasp of software development and testing life cycles (SDLC, STLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Demonstrated ownership of project quality with the ability to make informed release decisions.
- Strong soft skills including the ability to work well under pressure, keen attention to detail, clear and concise bug reporting, and effective collaboration with developers.
