MIDDLE MANAGEMENT POSITION – PROJECTS

Our client, a well-established Karachi-based company, is seeking an experienced professional for a middle management role in projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing civil and infrastructure projects, ensuring their timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery while adhering to health, safety, environmental (HSE), contractual, and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Civil & Project Expertise: Plan, manage, and execute civil construction, renovation, and refurbishment projects efficiently.
- Architectural Coordination: Review architectural drawings, layouts, and finishes, coordinating closely with architects and consultants to ensure design compliance.
- Project Planning & Execution: Oversee project scope, cost, quality, progress, and timelines across multiple projects, ensuring all targets are met.
- Digital/Engineering Applications: Utilize SAP and relevant engineering software such as AutoCAD and MS Project for project planning, monitoring, and documentation.
- Contract & Commercial Management: Handle Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, tendering processes, contractor management, measurements, certifications, and contract administration.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Lead project teams effectively and maintain strong coordination with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- HSE & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies, engineering standards, quality specifications, and organizational procedures throughout project execution.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify project challenges and implement timely, practical solutions to mitigate risks and ensure smooth progress.

Required Qualifications

- A minimum of 16 years of education, preferably a degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- At least 6 to 8 years of professional experience, ideally within large national or multinational organizations.
- Demonstrated experience of 2 to 6 years in managing teams and independently handling projects.
- Strong practical knowledge in planning, designing, costing, tendering, execution, and monitoring of civil and infrastructure projects, including renovation and refurbishment works.
- Working knowledge of architectural planning and design, with the ability to interpret and review architectural drawings, layouts, space planning, and finishes.
- Proficiency in SAP and other engineering/project management tools such as AutoCAD and MS Project.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance with scope, cost, quality, and timelines.
- Effective leadership skills with experience in managing multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Strong understanding of HSE requirements, construction safety protocols, and quality standards relevant to civil works.
- Familiarity with commercial and contractual aspects, including BOQs, tendering, contracts, and certification processes.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information

- Postgraduate qualifications in Architecture, Project Management, Business Administration, or related disciplines will be considered an advantage.
- Candidates should preferably be under 40 years of age at the time of application submission.
