MindWhiz is seeking a highly skilled Encryption & Data Resiliency Engineer with 5 or more years of experience to join their team. This position requires a deep understanding of data protection strategies, encryption technologies, and disaster recovery processes. The engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust encryption systems, managing key lifecycle activities, and ensuring data resiliency across complex enterprise environments. The role involves hands-on work with backup and recovery solutions as well as managing encryption keys using advanced Key Management Systems. This position includes supervising a team of 5 professionals, directing daily operations, and ensuring effective collaboration to uphold data security and compliance standards.
The successful candidate will operate within a dynamic technology environment, handling VMware, Hyper-V, and storage infrastructure. They will lead efforts in disaster recovery planning, failover testing, and business continuity to minimize risks and maintain uninterrupted service delivery. The engineer will troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues related to encryption and backup technologies, apply their expertise in regulatory requirements, and contribute to continuous process improvement. Clear communication and strong analytical skills are essential to thrive in this role and lead the team towards achieving operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise encryption technologies to protect sensitive data throughout its lifecycle.
- Manage cryptographic key lifecycle processes, including generation, storage, rotation, and destruction using Key Management Systems such as CipherTrust Manager.
- Oversee hardware security modules (HSM) deployment and management to secure cryptographic operations.
- Develop and enforce compliance and regulatory standards related to data encryption and protection, aligning with industry best practices.
- Lead backup and data recovery operations using tools like Veeam Backup & Replication, Dell Avamar, and Zerto to ensure data resiliency.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute disaster recovery and failover testing to validate business continuity strategies.
- Manage VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and SAN/NAS storage environments to optimize encryption and backup integration.
- Administer and troubleshoot TCP/IP networking, DNS configurations, firewall rules, and replication technologies integral to data protection.
- Analyze and resolve complex infrastructure challenges affecting encryption, backup, and data resiliency systems.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of 5 engineers, fostering collaboration, skills development, and high performance.
- Document procedures, configurations, and policies to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance readiness within the team and organization.
- Continuously evaluate emerging encryption and data resiliency technologies to enhance existing systems and processes.
