The Lab Executive (Water Testing) plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of water through various analytical and scientific techniques. This position involves monitoring daily laboratory operations, conducting new product trial tests, and performing routine water and equipment testing. The Lab Executive is responsible for analyzing microbial cultures, water samples, and other products using identification methods and laboratory trials. Additionally, they oversee the development of environmental microorganisms and the cultivation of microbe cultures to maintain established standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure strict adherence to Food Safety, Quality Management System (QMS), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) protocols in compliance with ISO 22000:2018 standards.
- Develop and maintain the Microbiology and Chemical Laboratory, ensuring all equipment and tools are in optimal working condition.
- Conduct chemical and microbiological testing of water samples according to specified requirements.
- Perform area monitoring within the laboratory and bottling plant to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
- Carry out hygiene monitoring of personnel involved in production activities to prevent contamination.
- Grow and maintain microbe cultures necessary for various tests and quality checks.
- Prepare and submit detailed laboratory reports promptly while maintaining accurate and organized laboratory records.
- Generate work orders based on testing requirements, assign tasks to field specialists, and ensure timely completion of sample analysis.
- Collaborate with the Team Lead in Research and Development activities to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain calibration of all laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Manage centralized lab testing records from outsourced laboratories located in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
- Develop new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), documents, and work instructions, as well as update existing ones to enhance laboratory processes.
- Ensure all products comply fully with local and international customer requirements and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Relevant experience ranging from 6 months to 1 year, including internships in quality control or laboratory testing environments.
- Knowledge of water quality testing protocols, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Quality Management Systems (QMS), and applicable regulatory standards.
Compensation and Work Location
The position offers a monthly salary range of Rs. 26,007.79 to Rs. 78,503.06. This role requires in-person attendance at the designated work location.
