As a back end developer at Modular Fintech, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our existing core banking system for SEPA and SWIFT transfers and driving the development of new products including:
- A card processing system integrated directly with major networks like Visa and Mastercard (not via third-party APIs).
- A card management system for issuance, lifecycle management, and security controls.
- Additional infrastructure for secure data controls, authentication connections, and API management, enabling cloud multi-tenancy for multiple financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Optimize the existing Golang and Vue based core banking system for improved performance and reliability.
- Design, develop, and implement new Golang microservices and modules for card processing, card management, terminal/POS management, and more.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product scope, requirements, and timelines.
- Ensure end-to-end system security, including secure authentication, data controls, and multi-tenant architectures.
- Write clean, tested, and well-documented code that follows best practices in performance, security, and scalability.
- Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks to ensure high availability and reliability of services.
- Keep up to date with the latest fintech and Golang trends, integrating relevant advancements into our ecosystem.
Requirements
- 2 + years of professional experience in Golang development (or proven track record in relevant languages, but strong preference for Golang) or 4 + in other languages.
- Solid understanding of backend architectures, including microservices, RESTful APIs, or gRPC-based services.
- Familiarity with payment systems, card processing, or banking integrations (SEPA, SWIFT) is highly advantageous.
- Experience with secure coding practices, authentication flows, and encryption methods.
- Strong grasp of testing frameworks (unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests).
- Proficiency in version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Remote work setup: Must have reliable internet access and the ability to collaborate virtually.
