MongoDB Specialist

In this hourly, remote contractor position, you will serve as a MongoDB Specialist (SME) responsible for designing and executing realistic, challenging computer-based tasks involving MongoDB and related database workflows. Your role includes creating practical MongoDB tasks, documenting them clearly using SuperAnnotate, ensuring your technical setup supports the task requirements, and recording yourself performing these tasks on your computer. The tasks will cover a range of MongoDB operations such as creating databases and collections, inserting and querying documents, filtering records, updating and deleting data safely, using indexes, navigating MongoDB Compass, connecting to local or cloud databases, importing/exporting JSON or CSV data, and troubleshooting common database issues. Your contributions will support the training of advanced AI models by providing authentic examples of how users interact with NoSQL databases and developer workflows.

Key Responsibilities

- Create realistic and challenging MongoDB tasks that can be executed on a computer, then document each task clearly within SuperAnnotate.
- Prepare your work environment to support task execution, including installing MongoDB and MongoDB Compass, setting up test databases, loading sample data, configuring safe credentials, and organizing any necessary reference materials.
- Record yourself performing the MongoDB tasks while adhering to project instructions, ensuring the workflow is clear, complete, realistic, and secure.
- Provide detailed documentation of each task’s context, including steps, goals, database and collection details, sample documents, query objectives, and explanatory notes to help reviewers understand the task and its completion.
- Demonstrate practical use of MongoDB features such as database and collection creation, CRUD operations, filtering, indexing, basic aggregation, data import/export, Compass navigation, and troubleshooting when applicable.
- Review your recordings and documentation carefully before submission to ensure completeness, clarity, realism, safety, and alignment with project guidelines.

Required Qualifications

- Proven hands-on experience with MongoDB, including working with databases, collections, document queries, updates, indexes, data import/export, and MongoDB Compass or similar backend/data tools.
- English language proficiency at B2 level or higher to accurately comprehend project instructions, document tasks clearly, and communicate effectively with the project team.
- Comfortable using computers, database tools, browsers, local environments, terminals (when necessary), sample data, and recording software to capture workflows.
- Ability to design realistic and challenging MongoDB tasks that reflect genuine backend, data management, administration, analytics, testing, or database operations use cases.
- Strong foundational knowledge of MongoDB concepts such as databases, collections, documents, BSON/JSON structures, CRUD operations, filters, basic aggregation, indexes, connection strings, and permissions.
- Capability to ensure your technical setup fully supports the task, including having MongoDB or MongoDB Compass installed, test databases ready, sample data loaded, credentials managed securely, and reference materials prepared before recording.
- High attention to detail in task preparation, execution, and quality control of recordings to guarantee completeness, safety, and understandability.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to consistently deliver high-quality work in a remote, hourly contractor role across different time zones.
