The MS Fabric Engineer position is a contract role based in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Gurugram, or Chennai, requiring 5 to 10 years of experience. The engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and managing the Microsoft Fabric (OneLake) data platform for a major telecom project. The role focuses on developing scalable data pipelines, enabling analytics, and supporting reporting across diverse customer segments. Strong expertise in cloud data platforms, data integration, and reporting tools is essential to deliver reliable and high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Data Platform Development:
Design and implement the MS Fabric/OneLake architecture by building and managing Lakehouses, Warehouses, and data pipelines. Develop efficient data models that support business intelligence and reporting requirements while ensuring scalability and performance.
Data Integration:
Ingest data from Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery and Kafka pipelines into MS Fabric. Build and maintain reliable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Fabric pipelines, ensuring data quality, lineage, and audit readiness throughout the process.
Collaboration & Data Exposure:
Work closely with API teams (DxL/Node.js) to define clear data contracts. Facilitate the creation of structured datasets for downstream consumption, aligning data models with reporting and API needs. Validate data integrity against source systems before enabling downstream usage.
Reporting Enablement:
Enable Power BI datasets and semantic models, optimizing performance through DirectLake or Import modes. Provide ongoing support to reporting teams by delivering well-structured data models and offering guidance on DAX calculations to enhance report accuracy and efficiency.
Data Modeling & Security:
Develop segment-specific data models tailored for various business units such as SMB and Managed Services. Ensure consistent business logic and data definitions across models to maintain accuracy and reliability.
Platform Operations & Governance:
Manage CI/CD deployments across development and production environments. Implement monitoring, governance, and data quality checks to maintain platform stability, compliance, and operational excellence.
