EY’s Global Delivery Services (GDS) team in Hyderabad is seeking a Senior FDL L2 Operations Specialist to support the Finance Data Lake (FDL) L2 Data Operations function. This role involves managing a complex enterprise-scale data ecosystem, focusing on platform stability, incident resolution, and operational efficiency. The position requires hands-on experience with technologies such as Databricks, Spark, ETL tools, Airflow, and Azure cloud services. The ideal candidate is a technology professional passionate about data operations, troubleshooting, and continuous learning within a dynamic and globally connected environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily Finance Data Lake operations, including addressing ETL failures, job failures, data quality issues, and pipeline monitoring. Investigate and resolve operational incidents within defined service levels by performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence. Proactively monitor platform health and respond to alerts, including providing shift-based and weekend coverage as needed. Troubleshoot Databricks and Spark-based data processing jobs, ETL workflows, and data pipelines, diagnosing and resolving issues beyond standard procedures. Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and platform teams to ensure timely resolution of problems. Support workflow orchestration and scheduling platforms such as Airflow. Communicate operational updates, incident statuses, and resolutions to stakeholders, actively participating in incident bridges and escalation processes. Maintain detailed documentation of incidents, resolutions, and operational procedures. Contribute to knowledge repositories and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and automation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or a related field. Between 3 to 8 years of experience in IT operations, data platform support, or cloud-based operational environments. Proven expertise in troubleshooting Databricks and Spark-based ETL processes. Strong understanding of ETL workflows, data pipeline management, and data lake environments. Hands-on experience with SQL. Familiarity with ITIL foundational concepts and incident management processes. Demonstrated ability to monitor and support enterprise applications and data systems. Experience working within structured support and escalation frameworks. Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to work independently while effectively contributing to a team. A learning mindset with adaptability to evolving technologies.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, NiFi, Talend/TAC, or similar technologies. Exposure to workflow orchestration tools, preferably Apache Airflow. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services. Experience supporting financial data platforms or large-scale enterprise data ecosystems. Familiarity with multi-technology operational environments and incident management best practices.
