Huawei is seeking experienced Multi-Vendor Telecom Datacom Planning Engineers and Team Leads across Pakistan. The ideal candidates will have strong hands-on expertise in multi-vendor telecom Datacom and IP transport systems, working with equipment from Huawei, Cisco, Nokia, ZTE, or other third-party vendors. This role involves planning, designing, and managing complex IP/MPLS networks to support metro, regional, and long-haul connectivity.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team of Datacom planning engineers to ensure the timely delivery of network designs and achievement of project milestones. Oversee the creation and review of High-Level Designs (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD) for IP/MPLS networks across various scales, including metro, regional, and long-haul segments.

Analyze traffic patterns, conduct link budget analyses, and forecast bandwidth demands to optimize network performance. Manage capital expenditure (CapEx) planning, budget forecasting, Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and technical evaluations of tenders.

Coordinate closely with equipment vendors, contractors, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution. Define and enforce operational standards while driving continuous improvements in network deployment and monitoring processes.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecom Engineering, or an equivalent field. Proven hands-on experience with Huawei (NE, CX, ATN), Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, or ZTE IP systems is essential.

Expertise in multi-vendor IP network integration and network planning and design is required, specifically with protocols and technologies such as IP/MPLS, Segment Routing (SR), BGP, OSPF, and ISIS. Experience in telecom site installation, testing, commissioning, network swaps, upgrades, and merger projects is highly preferred.

Strong knowledge of link budgets, optical protection schemes, Network Management System (NMS) platforms, and routing/MPLS integration is necessary. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical thinking, project management skills, vendor negotiation abilities, and effective communication.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

Experience working with major telecom operators such as Zong, Jazz, Telenor, Ufone, PTCL, or similar is advantageous. The role requires varying levels of experience depending on the position:

- Junior Engineer: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Senior Engineer: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
- Team Lead: Between 8 to 15+ years of relevant experience
