We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Bookkeeper to join our growing accountancy practice. This hybrid role combines core administrative responsibilities with basic bookkeeping and requires a good working knowledge of UK tax systems and client compliance workflows. The ideal candidate will play a vital part in supporting day-to-day operations and delivering exceptional service to our UK-based clients.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping Duties
Assist with bookkeeping tasks using cloud-based software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or FreeAgent
Enter and reconcile bank transactions and supplier invoices
Support VAT return preparation under supervision
Maintain organised and accurate financial records for multiple clients
Compliance & Tax Support
Understand key UK tax deadlines (e.g., Self Assessment, VAT, Corporation Tax)
Help gather and submit client documents for payroll, CIS, and tax filings
Assist with Companies House and HMRC documentation where required
