The Medical Billing Executive will play a vital role in verifying patient insurance benefits, posting payments, and managing claims through the entire billing cycle. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of medical billing workflows, insurance verification, and clearinghouse processes. Experience with Internal Medicine Speciality and Mental Health Speciality is a significant plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patient insurance benefits and coverage prior to services
- Accurately post insurance and patient payments
- Submit and track insurance claims through clearinghouses
- Follow up on denied or unpaid claims
- Maintain detailed records of billing activity
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and clinical staff as needed
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare billing regulations and standards
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management
- Proficient in insurance verification and payment posting
- Strong knowledge of medical billing workflows and clearinghouse operations
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems like Practice Fusion
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Practice Fusion EMR/EHR
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
- Prior experience in a multi-provider or high-volume medical practice
