We are seeking a skilled NDT & ANDT Inspector to join our Industry/Inspection Services department, reporting directly to the Lead Oil & Gas. This role involves close collaboration with inspection, operations, and engineering teams within the BV Industry department. The successful candidate will perform a variety of nondestructive testing (NDT) and advanced nondestructive testing (ANDT) inspections, ensuring compliance with industry standards and contributing to the safety and integrity of critical industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct conventional NDT examinations including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT/MPI), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT/DPT), and Visual Testing (VT).
- Perform or assist in ANDT examinations based on qualifications and project needs, including tubing inspections of heat exchangers, boilers, condensers, and tubular equipment using ECT, IRIS, and RFT techniques.
- Execute LRUT/GWUT inspections on piping and relevant components.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain NDT/ANDT equipment and accessories, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Analyze and interpret inspection data, evaluate indications per applicable standards, and prepare detailed, traceable inspection reports.
- Review examination data, calibration records, and inspection documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Interpret engineering drawings, weld maps, piping isometrics, and equipment schematics to support inspection activities.
- Support inspection efforts during fabrication, construction, maintenance, and shutdown/turnaround projects.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, QA/QC personnel, and project teams to ensure smooth inspection processes.
- Maintain proper identification and traceability of inspection results, promptly addressing equipment or technical issues with corrective actions.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, reporting hazards and incidents immediately and promoting a safe work environment.
- Manage daily inspection activities, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain professional independence and confidentiality.
- Communicate inspection findings clearly and professionally, responding to client queries within the scope of responsibility.
- Travel to client or project locations nationally and internationally as required.
Required Qualifications
- ASNT/PCN/ISO NDT Level-II certifications in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (DPT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), and Radiographic Testing (RT).
- Valid ANDT certification or demonstrated competency in relevant advanced nondestructive testing techniques.
- Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE), Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Training in both conventional and advanced NDT techniques, including UT, DPT, MPI, RT, ECT, IRIS, NFT, LRUT, TOFD/PAUT, and MFL.
- Working knowledge of ASME Section V, Section VIII, B31.3/B31.8, API 510/570/653, ASTM standards, ISO 9712, SNT-TC-1A, and relevant NDT/ANDT procedures.
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on industrial NDT/inspection experience, preferably within oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical, fertilizer, power, fabrication, offshore/onshore, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Experience with heat exchangers, boilers, condensers, process piping, and pressure vessels is advantageous.
- Familiarity with shutdown and turnaround inspection activities.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Tubing inspection and LRUT/GWUT certifications with practical experience are preferred.
- Additional qualifications in PAUT, TOFD, and MFL will be considered an advantage.
- Strong technical report writing, data analysis, and client communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and computer applications relevant to inspection documentation.
