- Leading tax function by ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timely filing of all the Federal and provincial sales tax returns.
- Advising all internal stakeholders on taxes and customs compliance up to each transaction level.
- Review of Federal Sales tax, Customs Act, provincial sales tax and respective rules and timely adaptation of various amendments.
- Liaising between Tax Authorities (both federal and provincial level) and Tax Advisors in respect of Taxes and Custom audits, Assessments and Refunds of current / previous Tax Years.
- Ensuring correct accounting treatment of Taxes and reconciliation of input and output taxes.
- Ensuring compliances with Stamp Duty and Professional Tax laws.
- Review and advice on import documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, customs declarations, and certificates of origin. Coordination with customs brokers to ensure accurate and timely customs clearance.
- Advice on correct tariff classification for imported goods including relevant duty exemptions, preferential trade agreements, and free trade agreements.
- Other reporting on special topics as assigned by Head of Department.
