NETWORK ENGINEER

Cybernet is looking for a talented and experienced Network Engineer to join our Network Engineering team. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, deploying, and maintaining a high-performance ISP infrastructure. Working in a fast-paced and technologically advanced environment, your efforts will directly influence the scalability, reliability, and overall performance of our national network. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain ISP core, aggregation, and access networks across Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies.
- Configure and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Implement and manage routing protocols and network services such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs, and QoS policies.
- Monitor network performance and availability using industry-standard tools like Zabbix, Cacti, or SolarWinds.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex network incidents to ensure minimal downtime.
- Collaborate closely with Network Operations Center (NOC), systems teams, and field engineers to deliver seamless end-to-end network services.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to critical network emergencies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including topology diagrams and change logs.
- Evaluate emerging networking technologies, recommend improvements, and assist with capacity planning initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Proven hands-on experience with routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF, as well as Layer 2 technologies including STP, LACP, and VLANs.
- Strong understanding of IP addressing schemes, subnetting, IPv6, and Carrier Grade NAT (CGNAT).
- Familiarity with scripting or network automation tools like Python or Ansible is advantageous.
- Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) are preferred.
