We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on designing, configuring, securing, and maintaining enterprise-grade network infrastructure in a fully remote capacity. This role involves hands-on work with routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, network security, monitoring, cloud networking, and performance optimization. You will manage complex environments utilizing Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and hybrid cloud technologies to ensure secure, reliable, and highly available networks during U.S. business hours. If you thrive on solving challenging networking problems and improving enterprise network performance, this opportunity is ideal for you.

Key Responsibilities

- Configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs across platforms including Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and Fortinet.
- Manage VLANs, QoS, VPN tunnels, ACLs, and network segmentation.
- Implement and maintain routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Perform firmware upgrades, hardware maintenance, patch management, and infrastructure improvements.
- Support network expansions, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Monitor network health using tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, or Zabbix.
- Troubleshoot latency, packet loss, routing instability, VPN connectivity, and failover issues using Wireshark, TCPdump, and other packet analysis tools.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and document remediation plans, responding to escalated incidents while meeting SLA requirements.
- Configure and maintain firewall policies and VPN security, implementing ACLs, network segmentation, intrusion prevention, secure remote access, and Zero Trust principles.
- Support compliance initiatives including PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOX, and GDPR, utilizing security tools such as Snort and Suricata.
- Perform bandwidth utilization analysis, capacity planning, and optimize network availability, redundancy, load balancing, and failover performance to maintain uptime of 99.9% or greater.
- Maintain accurate network documentation including diagrams, topology maps, configuration files, and runbooks using Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools.
- Follow ITIL change management processes and ensure documentation is audit-ready.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and DevOps teams to support networking across AWS VPC, Azure VNets, Google Cloud Platform, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Participate in infrastructure migrations, office expansions, data center deployments, and network modernization projects.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or enterprise networking.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Juniper networking equipment.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS, VPNs, ACLs, BGP, and OSPF.
- Proficiency with enterprise monitoring, troubleshooting, and packet analysis tools.
- Excellent documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong written and verbal English communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent networking certifications.
- Palo Alto or Fortinet certifications.
- Experience with AWS VPC, Azure networking, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Python, Ansible, Terraform, and network automation.
- Experience supporting highly available, multi-site enterprise environments.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means maintaining network uptime consistently above 99.9%, resolving incidents within SLA targets, ensuring no missed critical patches or compliance gaps, keeping infrastructure documentation accurate and current, reducing recurring outages, and achieving strong stakeholder satisfaction with network reliability and support.

The interview process includes an initial phone screen, a video interview with the recruiter, a technical assessment focused on VLAN configuration or network troubleshooting, a client interview with the engineering team, followed by an offer and background verification.

If you are passionate about designing secure enterprise networks and enjoy working on complex infrastructure challenges in a remote setting, we encourage you to apply and contribute to building reliable, scalable, and secure network infrastructure.
