Network engineer - PostEx

Our client, PostEx, is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer based in Lahore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting daily network operations, providing Level 1 and Level 2 IT support, maintaining the networking infrastructure, and assisting with the installation and troubleshooting of CCTV systems. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently, especially during night shifts, and effectively manage technical issues to ensure smooth IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot MikroTik routers to maintain network stability and performance.
- Provide daily L1 and L2 technical support to users and IT operations teams, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Manage IT-related emails, support tickets, and follow-ups to maintain clear communication and efficient workflow.
- Ensure compliance with IT Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational guidelines.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues across LAN, WAN, and MAN networks to minimize downtime.
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco networking devices, with a focus on switches, to support network infrastructure.
- Support network protocols and infrastructure troubleshooting to maintain optimal network health.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot NVR/DVR-based CCTV systems and IP cameras to support security operations.
- Coordinate with relevant teams and stakeholders to ensure timely and effective resolution of technical challenges.

Required Qualifications

- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in networking and IT support roles.
- Hands-on experience working with MikroTik routers in a professional environment.
- Practical knowledge of Cisco switches and fundamental networking concepts.
- Solid understanding of LAN, WAN, MAN, network layers, and common network protocols.
- Experience with CCTV camera systems, including NVRs and DVRs, for installation and troubleshooting purposes.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities combined with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, particularly during night shifts, demonstrating reliability and self-motivation.
